Value Vacancies – National Bookings Coordinator

Value is seeking a highly organised and proactive National Bookings Coordinator to manage and align all customer delivery bookings across stores and distribution centres. This role is central to ensuring delivery schedules align with the agreed chart of delivery days and times while driving efficiency and consolidation across the Logistics, Warehouse, and Linehaul divisions. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving optimal freight utilisation for all national deliveries.

Purpose of the Role

The National Bookings Coordinator is responsible for planning, requesting, aligning, and confirming bookings to ensure the accurate and timely movement of freight. This includes the coordination of waybills, managing bookings for various internal divisions, and maintaining effective communication with customers, stores, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor “Awaiting Bookings” status and daily “My Business” reports to ensure all due bookings are completed

  • Action daily WIP reports and rebook failed or past-due waybills

  • Coordinate national bookings, aligning store and distribution centre schedules to maximise delivery efficiency and freight consolidation

  • Book and release waybills on My Business for warehouse clients

  • Request and confirm bookings via email and phone for Logistics Branches, In-Houses, and Warehouse operations

  • Update bookings on Freightware and release orders as per the standard booking process for all clients

  • Respond professionally and promptly to phone calls and emails to ensure bookings are processed within agreed customer timelines

  • Communicate all confirmed bookings to relevant clients and stakeholders

  • Cancel or reschedule bookings when necessary, including those affected by short notice or unexpected issues

  • Correct waybill status defaults and maintain accurate due dates and times on Freightware

  • Ensure all branch and warehouse deliveries are processed within daily cut-off times

  • Escalate missed bookings and unresolved issues to the Department Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high volumes of data within tight deadlines

  • Effective communication with operations teams, stores, and customers

  • Ability to multitask and manage phone calls, emails, and reports simultaneously

Skills Required

  • Strong decision-making skills during the distribution process

  • Ability to identify cost factors and determine the appropriate vehicle type for specific delivery needs

  • Understanding of distribution techniques and the ability to prioritise effectively

  • Knowledge and application of health and safety procedures in the workplace

  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in other booking and logistics systems

  • Professional and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
