Cashbuild is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team in the role of Perpetual Inventory Counts. This position plays a critical part in maintaining accurate stock records by conducting daily physical stock counts, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring stock integrity across the store.

Job Purpose
The role involves executing daily physical cycle counts, verifying stock on hand against system data, identifying and reconciling discrepancies, and reporting issues such as damaged stock, incorrect SKUs, and pricing errors. This is a hands-on position requiring accuracy, consistency, and strong reporting skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with at least one year of relevant experience, or two years of related experience without matric

  • Proficient in English and the local dominant language

  • Basic literacy and computer skills

  • Strong numerical and analytical ability

  • Ability to perform accurately under pressure

  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Key Responsibilities

Perpetual Inventory Counts

  • Perform daily stock counts according to the PIC Count Cycle

  • Investigate and report all stock variances to the Store Manager

  • Rectify negative stock quantities after receiving the necessary approvals

  • Identify and report damaged stock, poor SKU quality, and pricing issues

  • Conduct mini stock-takes as required by Management

  • Assist in wall-to-wall stock-take preparation and participate in full stock-takes

Reporting and Communication

  • Submit daily variance reports to the Store Manager or Divisional Manager in line with Cashbuild procedures

  • Escalate unresolved irregularities to the Divisional Manager if needed

  • Report merchandising deficiencies in racking and bulk areas

  • Highlight areas needing special attention in the bulk stock area

PIC Adjustments and Documentation

  • Ensure all stock adjustments are accurately processed, verified, and signed off by Management

  • Validate End of Day reports against the PIC Adjustment Sheet and file accordingly

  • Ensure all adjustments are completed on the same day of the count cycle, prior to store closing

Filing and Administration

  • Complete all PIC documentation, ensure proper sign-off by relevant parties, and file daily for audit readiness

Operational Readiness

  • Follow the Ready for Business and Beyond My Control processes as outlined in the Cashbuild Way

Customer Service

  • Maintain a professional appearance in line with Cashbuild’s dress code

  • Wear a visible name badge at all times

  • Provide immediate support to customers when complaints arise

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Follow OHSA standards to ensure safety for staff and customers in your area

  • Report safety hazards or stock-related risks to the Store Manager

  • Use safety equipment and attire as required by company policies
