Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an opportunity for a Pharma Inventory Graduate based in Midrand. The main goal of this role is to support the management of supplier relationships, trading terms, and inventory planning within the Pharma Category. You will assist in forecasting, replenishment, and stock management to ensure product availability while adhering to Dis-Chem’s inventory benchmarks. This role provides an opportunity to learn and contribute to the efficient delivery of the right products at the right place and time, supporting optimal stock levels through collaboration and the implementation of action plans.

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement

Job Description:

Vendor Relations and Agreements:

  • Assist in creating vendor agreements for new vendors and updating existing agreements for renewals.

  • Support the coordination of signing new vendor agreements and renewals, ensuring all deadlines are met.

  • Collaborate with the legal team to monitor compliance with vendor contracts.

  • Assist in logistical planning for vendor meetings and ensure all materials and stakeholders are in place.

  • Track vendor performance, ensuring they meet agreed-upon specifications, SLAs, and delivery timelines.

  • Maintain positive communication with vendors to foster professional relationships.

  • Organize and maintain contract documentation.

Stock Management and Allocation:

  • Assist with replenishing stock into Distribution Centres (DCs) based on assigned portfolio, ensuring optimal inventory levels.

  • Process orders on schedule, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Monitor daily stock levels in DCs and track supplier deliveries, maintaining required supply levels.

  • Allocate stock based on customer demand and ensure compliance with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures.

  • Resolve inbound order issues, returns, and supplier recalls, ensuring discrepancies are promptly addressed.

  • Maintain required stock cover levels in line with group specifications and minimize out-of-stock situations.

  • Manage back orders as needed.

Category Inventory Maintenance:

  • Review dormant stock reports and identify stores for distribution and IBT execution.

  • Monitor short-dated or expired stock by analyzing sales reports and directing stock to stores that could utilize it.

  • Submit stock write-off recommendations to management for approval.

  • Coordinate stock returns or follow the Return to Vendor (RTV) policy with DC Management and vendors.

  • Ensure inventory targets such as stock turn and sell-through rates are met.

  • Address non-compliance in stock cover with vendors and take appropriate actions.

  • Respond to supplier queries related to stock, pricing, returns, transfers, and new vendor applications.

Category Administration:

  • Update product information and master data to maintain accurate product records.

  • Communicate stock-related issues, pricing concerns, claims, and returns to stakeholders for smooth operations.

  • Ensure price reductions are communicated internally for the issuance of credit notes to stores and DCs.

  • Actively manage and resolve inventory-related issues through heat calls on a daily basis.

Stakeholder Partnership:

  • Collaborate with Distribution Centre (DC) operators to ensure timely supplier deliveries.

  • Work closely with Pharma Inventory Officers and Finance on matters related to trade terms, pricing claims, and vendor applications.

  • Maintain communication with suppliers to resolve inventory-related issues promptly.

  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers (KAMs) to ensure smooth inventory management and coordination.

  • Work with marketing, sales, customer service, and operations teams to resolve stock shortfalls and align on solutions.

  • Participate in team meetings to provide updates on company initiatives, status reports, and execution progress.
