Dischem Vacancies – Pharma Sales Representative
Dis-Chem Pharmacies in the Eastern Cape / Garden Route is seeking a Pharma Sales Representative. The primary responsibility of this role is to increase the visibility and awareness of the group’s pharmaceutical and medical products by driving sales growth. This position serves as the key link between wholesalers and healthcare professionals, working to develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers to boost sales.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:

Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
-
NQF 4 Pharmacist Assistant PB Advantage: Undergraduate

1–2 years of experience in pharmacy sales
Advantageous:

Undergraduate qualification in Sales and Marketing
-
2–3 years of experience in direct sales and detailing
Duties and Responsibilities:
Pharmacy Sales and Promotions:
-
Drive prospects for new business, developing a pipeline of leads and converting them to actual sales.

Maximize sales potential with existing customers to ensure long-term sustainability.

Stay informed about the latest industry trends and products to capitalize on sales opportunities.

Collaborate with the sales team to implement strategies and maintain a consistent marketing message.

Monitor new developments in the industry, adjusting sales strategies to adapt to changes.

Work with management to develop business plans for driving sales in the assigned area.

Assess customer needs and present appropriate products.

Engage with targeted doctors to encourage prescriptions using effective selling skills and cost-benefit analysis.

Provide product information and deliver product samples.

Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and symposiums to enhance product knowledge.

Build trust and positive relationships with medical representatives to influence decision-making processes.

Maintain a satisfactory customer call rate, strike rate, and territory coverage.

Negotiate for additional display areas in line with marketing objectives to enhance brand visibility.
Stockholder Relationships:

Develop and maintain relationships with in-store or in-practice personnel who impact the company’s business.

Engage in detailing sessions with scripting/dispensing doctors and pharmacists.
Administration and Reporting:

Ensure accurate completion of all sales contracts and documentation, submitting them to the support team.

Investigate problems, prepare reports, and recommend solutions to resolve customer complaints.

Maintain accurate records for reporting and feedback.

Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and timelines.
