FlySafair is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Supervisor to join its Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading procurement activities, ensuring vendor compliance, and driving process efficiency while aligning with the organisation’s financial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement sourcing strategies that optimise procurement processes and ensure efficient supply chain operations.

• Procure goods and services strictly from QA-approved vendors in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Identify and assess potential new suppliers, coordinating vendor audits and credit applications through the Finance Department.

• Improve procurement responsiveness by streamlining workflows and enhancing decision-making speed.

• Supervise the procurement team and ensure proper documentation and storage of procurement records for audit readiness.

• Monitor procurement expenditure and promote a culture of cost control and financial responsibility.

• Perform financial assessments of supplier spend and provide regular reports for management use.

• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes relevant to procurement and aviation.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve procurement systems and processes, ensuring optimal flow of information.

• Manage supplier performance, risk, and relationships in alignment with company goals and service expectations.

• Track key metrics to evaluate procurement performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Monitor departmental backorders and ensure timely, complete deliveries through ERP system oversight.

• Ensure supplier invoices are accurately processed in coordination with Finance and Warehousing teams to reduce GRV suspense.

• Manage open purchase requisitions and orders, ensuring timely closure to prevent financial discrepancies.

• Monitor staff attendance, overtime, and leave requests, including oversight of necessary documentation and approvals.

• Support the Manager in handling employee disciplinary matters in compliance with company procedures.

• Promote adherence to safety and standard operating procedures across all procurement operations.

• Lead by example, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among team members.

• Guide and develop direct reports to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.

• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring procurement alignment with company requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)

• Diploma in Procurement or related qualification (Essential)

• Minimum of 10 years’ procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity (Essential)

• Proven experience in aviation procurement (Essential)

• Familiarity with SAM AMO systems, TRAX, or QlikView (Advantageous)
