Job Overview
Pick n Pay is seeking an experienced Product Owner to drive the development, delivery, and optimisation of key products within the e-commerce Pod. The role focuses on setting the product vision, managing roadmaps and backlogs, and ensuring commercial and customer impact. The Product Owner works closely with cross-functional teams, including e-commerce, merchandising, data analytics, and technology, to deliver high-value solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Set Product Vision and Direction

Contribute to company-wide product strategy alongside divisional leaders

Own and communicate the strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and market demands

Lead annual strategy sessions to align KPIs with business objectives and the product roadmap

Analyse and represent user data and research to guide product decisions
-
Communicate the product vision to key stakeholders across the organisation
-
Demonstrate leadership and influence across all levels
Maintain Product Feature Roadmap and Backlog

Lead complex cross-dependency solutioning and manage end-to-end product development
-
Oversee backlog creation and management, prioritising key business drivers and communicating priorities to stakeholders

Assess business value, develop business cases, and prioritise stories, epics, and themes to maximise value aligned with product strategy

Ensure seamless integration with third-party providers
Product Performance & Optimisation

Ensure products deliver commercial sustainability and customer impact

Make decisions and priorities visible through roadmaps, reports, and one-pagers

Measure, track, and present product performance against KPIs
-
Select and monitor input metrics that influence strategic business outcomes
Product Excellence in Process & Delivery

Prioritise initiatives using frameworks such as MOSCOW and Business Scoring

Apply a minimum viable product approach, focusing on must-haves and hypothesis-driven development

Develop product one-pagers defining challenges, opportunities, and solutions for organisational use

Maintain and manage domain-specific roadmaps
