Job Overview:
Rand Water is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multi-disciplinary and multi-project portfolios aligned with our strategic objectives. Reporting to the Programme Manager, the successful candidate will ensure the effective planning, execution, and delivery of high-level engineering projects for both internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BTech, BSc, or BEng in Engineering (formal engineering qualification).

  • Minimum 5 years of proven Project Management experience in managing complex, multi-project environments.

  • At least 5 years of experience in the engineering sector, preferably in the water industry.

  • Registered (or eligible for registration) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).

  • Project Management qualification or certification (Diploma, Degree, PMP) is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards is beneficial.

  • Completion of an Advanced Management Programme is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.

  • Oversee capital programme execution with broad accountability.

  • Manage project scheduling and resource allocation, ensuring operational efficiency across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Minimise environmental impact and promote Preferential Procurement and development targets.

Required Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Project Management software, including SAP Project Systems, Enterprise Project Management tools, and MS Excel.

  • Strong understanding of project and programme management frameworks, contract management, risk management, and compliance with industry regulations (including CIDB and water sector legislation).
