Project Manager
Purpose of the Job
The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects with a hands-on approach, ensuring full understanding of project scope and alignment with operational requirements. The role focuses on achieving project outcomes and timelines to support the Logistics division and other related divisions as required.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage projects, including improvement initiatives, from inception to completion.
- Collaborate closely with IT and operational teams to deliver project objectives.
- Achieve tangible business outcomes through structured project management methodologies.
- Develop detailed project plans, including task scheduling and timeline estimation.
- Assign roles and responsibilities for project tasks.
- Monitor project progress, report on status, and escalate potential issues proactively.
- Ensure tasks are completed on time and project outcomes are successfully achieved.
- Handle project administration, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and tracking action points.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records, ensuring proper filing.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely updates and feedback.
Project-Related Tasks
- Conduct operational analysis to support project objectives.
- Investigate and document business and operational processes.
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Produce reports and presentations on project findings.
- Create process documentation, including flowcharts and solution-oriented materials.
- Conduct research to support project implementation and decision-making.
General
- Perform general administrative duties.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management beneficial
- PMI certification preferred (CAPM or PMP)
- Minimum 3 years’ project management experience
