FlySafair is seeking a dedicated Ramp Agent to join our team at King Shaka International Airport. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor: Duty Station and will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of aircraft on the ground.
Key responsibilities include:

Adhering to safety regulations concerning Dangerous Goods at all times.

Ensuring general safety and security around the aircraft.
-
Liaising between crew and ground handlers to obtain boarding clearance for passengers.
-
Monitoring the loading and offloading of baggage and cargo.
-
Advising ground handling partners of any load changes.
-
Ensuring effective turnarounds and reducing delays by ensuring that all handling agents and service providers are in place for arrivals.
-
Conducting ramp safety audits when required.
-
Ensuring ramp vehicles are clean and fueled.
-
Picking up and dropping off crew as and when required.
-
Monitoring flight operations to ensure on-time performance is met.
-
Allocating delays as and when required.
-
Assisting with crew requests, such as coordinating clean-up services, providing water, and managing restroom facilities.
-
Ensuring all service providers are present as required per flight (e.g., ACSA, fuel handler).

Conducting ad-hoc inspections in the baggage department.
-
Performing any duty allocated or delegated by the senior on duty.
-
Arranging support for heavy or oversized equipment/cargo, such as motorized wheelchairs.
-
Ensuring sufficient staff as per Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Conducting Foreign Object Debris (FOD) checks and reporting any irregular activities related to flight operations.

Coordinating any disrupted operations.

Monitoring ramp and passenger service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as boarding gate closure time and equipment positioning.

Completing ramp agent forms for every flight.

Compiling reports for irregularities or incidents if required.
-
Liaising across different departments and stations to coordinate with the relevant stakeholders to ensure on-time departure.
Job Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent.
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an airline/aviation environment (Passenger Services and/or Ramp Services and/or Baggage Handling).

Code 08 Drivers License (Essential).
-
No criminal record.

Airside knowledge and understanding of airport operations.
