Job Overview:
Parmalat, part of the international Lactalis Group, is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Raw Material Manager to join our Admin department at the Bonnievale Plant. This role is responsible for managing mass balance processes and implementing GMP best practices across the plant. Key Responsibilities:

Investigate loss points and evaluate milk usage and efficiency

Prepare and follow up on GMP loss action plans

Accurately enter and maintain GMP data in the system

Monitor COD analysis daily and initiate corrective actions for high COD values
-
Validate FT120 readings against hand sample methods for fat and protein tracking
-
Track and reduce GMP-related losses
-
Perform regular equipment inspections and validations
-
Manage and report on mass balance, fat, and protein variances
-
Control weekly and monthly raw material consumption aligned with shopfloor usage
-
Implement and uphold FSSC requirements across departments
Minimum Requirements:
-
NQF Level 7 qualification in Chemical Engineering or Food Science & Technology

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the FMCG sector

Strong planning, organizational, and staff motivation skills
-
Solid knowledge of manufacturing and production processes
-
Experience with mass balance calculations, fat and protein loss tracking
-
Understanding of CIP systems and effluent management is an advantage
-
High attention to detail and a strong aptitude for numerical analysis
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; BPCS knowledge is advantageous
-
Strong problem-solving and time management abilities
-
Able to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work long hours, shifts, weekends, and travel between plants
