Flysafair careers – Receiving Inspector

Flysafair is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving Inspector to join its warehouse operations team. This role is responsible for managing incoming shipments, inspecting goods, and ensuring all items received meet required standards. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive shipments and verify contents against invoices and purchase orders

  • Unload packages using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or dollies

  • Inspect goods for damage, defects, and compliance with quality standards

  • Record and report on all received items daily using the SAM system

  • Label and allocate received items to their correct storage locations

  • Maintain accurate records to support inventory control and stock management

  • Conduct daily stock checks on all items marked as received

  • Update inventory systems and monitor tooling in the receiving area

  • Liaise with procurement, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies

  • Handle returns for defective or incorrect shipments and complete required documentation

  • Ensure the receiving area is organised, clean, and audit-ready at all times

  • Monitor and process transfers of items to other locations when necessary

  • Package and return items to vendors as needed

  • Support compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including Dangerous Goods requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)

  • 3–5 years of experience in warehousing or receiving within a mid-size organisation (essential)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Understanding of Dangerous Goods regulations and relevant AMO standards

  • Warehouse training certification (advantageous)

  • Experience with the SAM AMO system (advantageous)

  • Forklift licence and experience operating forklifts (beneficial)

  • Willing to work overtime when operationally required

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Basic math and record-keeping abilities
