Sales Representative
Purpose of the Job
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value Services, with a primary focus on Value Truck Rental while cross-selling other services such as Value Logistics, Linehaul, Value Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express. This role aims to expand the customer base, increase revenue, and provide tailored solutions to meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Gather and analyse information on clients’ transport, distribution, and expenditure.
- Evaluate potential expenditure and apply focus factors (G, S, B).
- Monitor competitors and market trends within your area.
- Build strong relationships and foster customer trust.
- Identify customer service requirements and provide accurate quotes for Value Services.
- Grow existing accounts by understanding client businesses and cross-selling Value Services.
- Close sales deals and target national accounts.
- Maintain knowledge of clients’ contracts and ensure services meet current requirements.
- Understand customers’ business needs and implement strategies to achieve revenue growth.
- Maximise the value of every client interaction with clear objectives for each visit.
- Ensure Value service levels are maintained according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain frequent contact with business influencers to strengthen relationships.
- Continuously update product knowledge.
- Identify client issues and resolve queries promptly, including invoice queries, claims, and PODs.
- Project a professional image at all times.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Submit all reports accurately and on time, including sales reports.
- Meet team expectations, budgets, and targets set by management.
- Assist with additional tasks or duties as reasonably requested by management, within the scope of the role and organisational objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Experience in a sales environment
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans

- Ability to apply appropriate sales techniques based on the situation
- Capability to identify and address customer needs within assigned area
- Strong time management skills
- Customer Relationship Management expertise
- Understanding of risk management principles
- Ability to accept and manage independent risk outcomes
