FlySafair is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Continued Airworthiness Specialist to ensure compliance with aviation maintenance standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing the technical airworthiness processes and mentoring a team of specialists while maintaining operational integrity and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Verify the accuracy of work-packs before submission to the AMO, ensuring alignment with aircraft status reports and scheduled maintenance tasks.

Ensure only compliant and airworthy parts are used in all aircraft systems and components before release to service.

Conduct detailed technical inspections of aircraft systems, components, and parts.

Perform quality and safety assessments on all maintenance equipment and tooling, including calibration compliance in accordance with approved manuals.

Oversee in-progress and final inspections during aircraft maintenance, modifications, repairs, and overhauls, taking full responsibility for sign-off.

Execute routine aircraft ramp inspections and maintain oversight of all compliance records required by the operator.

Evaluate service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and manufacturer recommendations for implementation.

Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to airworthiness standards and maintenance procedures.

Investigate technical failures and recurring reliability issues, implementing corrective actions where needed.

Prepare consolidated weekly and monthly performance reports for management review.

Lead and mentor a team of Continued Airworthiness Specialists, offering guidance, feedback, and task delegation.

Encourage a collaborative team culture and ensure optimal performance through coaching and development.

Foster strong working relationships with regulatory authorities, MRO partners, and internal stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)

Aircraft Technician trade certificate (Essential)
-
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AME) with B737-400 and B737-800 ratings (Essential)

Engineering qualification in Aeronautics, Mechanical, Electrical, Avionics, or related fields (Advantageous)

Minimum 7 years of experience as an AME, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity (Essential)

Minimum 3 years of direct engagement with the SACAA (Essential)
