FlySafair is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Continued Airworthiness Specialist to ensure compliance with aviation maintenance standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing the technical airworthiness processes and mentoring a team of specialists while maintaining operational integrity and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify the accuracy of work-packs before submission to the AMO, ensuring alignment with aircraft status reports and scheduled maintenance tasks.

• Ensure only compliant and airworthy parts are used in all aircraft systems and components before release to service.

• Conduct detailed technical inspections of aircraft systems, components, and parts.

• Perform quality and safety assessments on all maintenance equipment and tooling, including calibration compliance in accordance with approved manuals.

• Oversee in-progress and final inspections during aircraft maintenance, modifications, repairs, and overhauls, taking full responsibility for sign-off.

• Execute routine aircraft ramp inspections and maintain oversight of all compliance records required by the operator.

• Evaluate service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and manufacturer recommendations for implementation.

• Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to airworthiness standards and maintenance procedures.

• Investigate technical failures and recurring reliability issues, implementing corrective actions where needed.

• Prepare consolidated weekly and monthly performance reports for management review.

• Lead and mentor a team of Continued Airworthiness Specialists, offering guidance, feedback, and task delegation.

• Encourage a collaborative team culture and ensure optimal performance through coaching and development.

• Foster strong working relationships with regulatory authorities, MRO partners, and internal stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)

• Aircraft Technician trade certificate (Essential)

• Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AME) with B737-400 and B737-800 ratings (Essential)

• Engineering qualification in Aeronautics, Mechanical, Electrical, Avionics, or related fields (Advantageous)

• Minimum 7 years of experience as an AME, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity (Essential)

• Minimum 3 years of direct engagement with the SACAA (Essential)
