Flysafair is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager: Commercial to lead strategic commercial initiatives and drive business growth. This role is pivotal in expanding market presence, optimizing revenue streams, and leading cross-functional teams in the execution of business development plans.
Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to design and implement commercial growth strategies

Identify and assess new market opportunities, emerging trends, and potential partnerships

Lead negotiations and execution of strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and commercial agreements

Oversee sales performance across various distribution channels, including TPAPI partners, OTAs, and GDS platforms
-
Deliver high-impact presentations and proposals to prospective partners and stakeholders
-
Use market data and customer insights to drive informed decision-making and identify areas for growth
-
Monitor competitor activity and market shifts to ensure FlySafair stays ahead in a competitive landscape

Implement continuous improvement initiatives that support commercial effectiveness

Track and report on sales performance, profitability, and business development metrics

Evaluate the impact of marketing campaigns, business initiatives, and partnerships

Provide insights on financial planning, resource allocation, and commercial strategy

Collaborate with teams across sales, product development, marketing, and finance to align initiatives

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry experts

Lead and mentor the commercial team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a high-performance culture

Conduct performance reviews, offer professional development opportunities, and drive team efficiency

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or IT (essential)

MBA or relevant business improvement qualification (advantageous)

8–10 years of experience in a commercial, sales, or project management role, with at least 5 years at senior management level in a mid-sized organisation

Willingness to travel and availability after hours when needed

Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

Strong understanding of market dynamics, business development, commercial contracts, APIs, and financial principles

Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, negotiation, and relationship management
