Clover Vacancies – Shift Manager : Warehouse – Matroosfontien

Clover is seeking a qualified and experienced Shift Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations at the CDC Cape Town facility. This role involves managing staff, ensuring smooth warehouse processes, maintaining safety and security standards, and driving operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Staff:

  • Deploy resources effectively during shifts

  • Enforce consistent discipline within the team

  • Train and develop staff to enhance their skills

  • Attend CDC management meetings and staff shift meetings as required

  • Liaise and communicate with management across departments in the CDC and branch

  • Set objectives and manage performance of all controllers and team leaders

Manage Warehouse Processes:

  • Oversee the receiving and offloading of stock

  • Supervise putaways, replenishments, and returns

  • Manage the picking, checking, and loading functions

  • Ensure proper stock rotation

  • Ensure repacking and sorting of damages to minimize losses

  • Optimize the usage and maintenance of the Warehouse Management System (WMS)

  • Control CHEP pallets and crates

Housekeeping, Maintenance, Cold Chain, Safety, and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and housekeeping rules

  • Maintain cold chain standards

  • Ensure correct usage of loss control tools such as access control, weigh bridge, and CCTV

  • Manage stock breakages and losses

  • Ensure proper use of MHE, equipment, pantechs, trailers, bays, and yards

  • Comply with legal requirements, including SHE, SABS, and BCEA regulations

Assist with Planning and Cost Control:

  • Ensure costs remain within budget and report on any deviations

  • Plan for resource demands and assist in setting budgets

  • Contribute to peak planning activities
