Contract Duration: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Safety Officer to support the Site SSHE Officer in identifying and minimizing job-related risks. The role will involve monitoring operations to help eliminate hazardous activities using various MECP tools and techniques. The SSHE Officer Assistant will assist in implementing EHS policies and procedures to promote occupational health and safety (SHE) and participate in conducting internal audits to ensure continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the planning and execution of internal audits (ISO 14001 and MARSH)

  • Assisting in incident investigations and coordinating the corrective action system

  • Conducting continuous risk assessments for operational tasks

  • Coordinating contractor operational observations and auditing

  • Driving SRO closure activities with relevant unit managers to ensure compliance with targets

  • Taking part in MECP project initiatives in collaboration with relevant managers

  • Developing training materials to simplify communication using tools like OPLs

  • Supporting the routine meetings in various units

  • Driving the PJO schedule and developing corrective actions for identified gaps while monitoring implementation

Key Performance Indicators

  • Monthly contractor gap analysis based on daily operations

  • Number of MECP projects delivered

  • Effective SRO management

  • Monthly performance gap identification and closure

  • Adherence to the training plan

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Key professional competencies:

  • Data analysis, workplace safety, SHE systems auditing, contractor management, and risk assessment

Key foundational competencies:

  • Academic qualification in Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Diploma

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to write reports, multi-task, work under pressure, and take initiatives

Experience:

  • Fresh graduate or 1 year of experience in the SSHE space is preferred, with experience in internal auditing, action plan development, tracking, and peer-to-peer coaching

  • Previous experience in the manufacturing or FMCG industry is desirable
