Dischem Vacancies – Store Admin Manager

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an exciting opportunity for a Store Admin Manager at their Benmore store. In this role, you will assist in managing, implementing, and maintaining company administration policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to group standard operating procedures that contribute to the profitability of the store.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • At least 3 years of retail experience in receiving, front shop operations, customer service, human resource management, and store administration

  • A minimum of 2 years of management experience overseeing a team of around 8 staff members

  • Computer literate (MS Office)

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Diploma or Degree in Financial Administration, Retail, Business Management, or a related field

  • Working knowledge of SAP for operating and utilizing retail operation systems

Job Specification

  • Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operations to optimize store performance

  • Support in managing goods in transit according to Dis-Chem procedures

  • Contribute to managing the store’s shrinkage and consumables expenses to meet store objectives

  • Continuously report and drive new customer loyalty sign-ups

  • Facilitate human resource processes, submissions, and documentation for the business unit, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures

  • Manage the workforce management system (KRONOS) within the business unit

  • Ensure the implementation of company performance management systems according to policy

  • Oversee store cash resources, including daily takings

  • Ensure transaction integrity through effective monitoring and evaluation of adherence to company internal control procedures

  • Support in managing cashier service levels and productivity rates

  • Oversee goods receiving and the direct and indirect credits functions in the business unit, ensuring compliance with procedures and mentoring staff for performance growth

  • Ensure integrity of incoming goods receipts and outgoing returns by monitoring and enforcing company internal controls

  • Assist with budget preparation and maintenance for the store

Competencies

Essential:

  • Experience in store retail administration and management, including receiving, capturing, till operations, cash office, and customer service

  • Strong command of the English language

  • Basic financial skills, including understanding GP, mark-up, VAT, etc.

  • Effective interaction with suppliers, management, reps, and staff

  • Strong analytical skills and time management

Advantageous:

  • Basic Industrial Relations (IR) and management training

  • Basic accounting knowledge

  • Leadership skills

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

  • Local travel required – valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

  • South African citizen
