Dischem Vacancies – Store Driver – Wonderpark

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Store Driver with a valid car and motorbike license for the Wonderpark store. You will be responsible for ensuring timely, safe, and professional delivery of goods to customers.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Valid driver’s license (Motorbike and Car)

  • Willing and able to work retail hours and/or shifts

Advantageous:

  • Previous experience in a similar role

Job Description:

  • Safely transport products to customers in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.

  • Be open to learning and performing various dispatch functions.

  • Ensure correct products are delivered to the right customer within the specified time frame.

  • Prioritize fridge line deliveries and ensure they are transported using cooler boxes and cold packs.

  • Use the shortest and most efficient route to customers and return to the store.

  • Return to the store immediately after delivery to maximize vehicle utilization for additional deliveries.

  • Repack the vehicle after each delivery to prevent damage to stock or the vehicle.

  • Be fully accountable for any damages or losses during the delivery process.

  • Handle fragile and hazardous items with extra care during delivery.

  • Comply with company standards of efficiency and accuracy.

  • Follow delivery and pickup instructions from the manager.

  • Ensure all collections, store returns, and inter-branch transfers are properly checked, signed for, and returned to the receiving area.

  • Ensure all delivery paperwork is signed upon delivery and report any discrepancies to the manager.

  • Ensure customer details (names and addresses) are correct.

  • Maintain an accurate delivery log, ensuring all invoices are recorded correctly.

  • Comply with the company vehicle policy at all times and maintain an accurate vehicle logbook.

  • Process payments for transactions via EFT or cash.

  • Ensure the vehicle is never left unattended during delivery.

  • Keep the vehicle clean and washed.

  • Inspect the vehicle for defects before, during, and after trips, and report any concerns to the manager.

  • Report any accidents or incidents involving the vehicle or company equipment.

  • Adhere to the road traffic rules and regulations as per the National Road Traffic Act.

  • Be responsible for any traffic fines related to the vehicle.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, management, and staff.

  • Ensure professional behavior when interacting with customers and provide feedback on customer complaints or compliments to management.

Competencies:

Essential:

  • Strong command of the English language

  • Presentable appearance

  • Effective interaction with customers, management, and staff

  • Trustworthy and honest

  • Strong time management skills

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual

  • Ability to report suspicious behavior

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours and/or shifts

  • Willing and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes while adhering to health and safety standards

  • Valid driver’s license (Motorcycle and Car)

  • Reliable transport or residence near the store

  • South African citizen
