Pepkor is hiring for the position of Supervisor. This role is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in driving store profitability by boosting sales, managing inventory, and controlling expenses in line with budget requirements. To be considered, applicants must have a Matric certificate or equivalent, along with three to five years of retail experience in a Shop Assistant role. Computer literacy and strong communication skills are essential, and any additional qualifications in retail or business will be advantageous.

Ideal candidates will have a strong focus on customer service, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues. Accuracy at the till, commitment to maintaining store appearance, and a high standard of work are required. Initiative, reliability, and alignment with company values and procedures are key attributes. A solid understanding of visual merchandising principles, SKU availability, and stock intensity is expected. The role also demands strong planning, delegation, and leadership capabilities, as well as the ability to manage stress and maintain integrity under pressure. Availability to work retail trading hours is necessary.

Key responsibilities include supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, overseeing merchandise management, ensuring compliance with stock loss control processes, assisting with financial and administrative functions, managing stock holding in line with policy, and supporting HR-related tasks. Supervisors are also expected to understand receiving procedures and maintain the layout and standards of the stockroom.
