Cashbuild Vacancies – System Sup(External Applications Only) – Zwelitsha

Cashbuild is currently looking for a qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of System Sup (External Applications Only). This role involves managing and supervising all Point of Sale (POS) transactions, ensuring excellent customer service, and handling all Cash Office and POS-related administrative duties.

Job Purpose
The role is responsible for overseeing POS operations, managing banking and cash handling processes, supervising Cashiers, and ensuring compliance with safety and security standards. This position is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring smooth front-end store operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with five years of relevant experience or ten years of related work experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the local dominant language

  • Advanced numeric and administrative skills

  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service

  • Ability to perform under pressure

  • Computer literacy

  • Prior experience as a Cashier

Customer Service

  • Ensure efficient processing of all speed point transactions including credit and debit card payments

  • Communicate effectively with customers, assisting with queries and resolving complaints or escalating when necessary

  • Provide fast, friendly, and professional service

  • Maintain stock levels of stationery and consumables used at the POS

Cash Handling and Banking

  • Manage all store floats including petty cash, till, and change floats

  • Oversee change ordering and distribution

  • Accurately record and balance petty cash expenses

  • Process Back Office transactions and manage cashier cash-ups and returns

  • Ensure timely pick-ups and perform End of Day sessions on POS terminals

  • Supervise the CIT (Cash in Transit) collection process and ensure proper documentation and security protocols are followed

Operational Readiness

  • Ensure Cashiers follow the Ready for Business process

  • Maintain a clean and organized Cash Office with proper filing of all related documentation

People Management

  • Monitor Cashier attendance and performance

  • Schedule and manage shift rosters, leave, and day-off allocations

  • Provide backup training for Cashiers and ensure product knowledge is current

  • Enforce the company dress code and ensure all team members comply

  • Evaluate and improve performance of POS staff

Safety Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to OHSA safety standards across the Cash Office and POS areas

Security Awareness

  • Remain alert to suspicious activity inside and outside the store

  • Maintain password security and restrict unauthorized access to the Cash Office

  • Ensure the office is locked during sensitive procedures such as pickups and cash-ups

  • Safeguard keys and sensitive information appropriately

  • Meet performance targets and deliver quality work in line with company standards

  • Follow through on responsibilities and complete tasks within deadlines

  • Identify issues, investigate root causes, and resolve or escalate as necessary using available resources
