Standard Bank is calling on forward-thinking, tech-savvy graduates to be part of its CIB Technology Graduate Programme. This opportunity is designed for individuals ready to help transform banking through innovative, digital solutions.

CIB Technology is the engine behind Global Markets, Transaction Banking, and Investment Banking – serving a diverse client base including corporates, asset managers, public institutions, and other financial entities. From algorithmic trading to structured products, the programme offers exposure to high-performance, fast-paced environments across the continent.

As part of this programme, you’ll be immersed in both practical and theoretical learning. You will rotate across the full CIB Technology value chain, gaining insight into application and technology architecture, analysis, development, testing, deployment, operations, and the support of live environments.

Technologies you’ll work with include JAVA, Python, Angular, C, C++, C#, GO, Salesforce, Murex, Calypso, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, SQL databases, Matlab, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, AWS, Microsoft Power Automate, and Co-pilot.

Minimum Qualifications
Postgraduate degree (completed or completing in 2025) in one of the following:

  • Computer Science

  • Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

  • Electronic Engineering

  • Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Financial Mathematics

  • Statistics

  • Informatics / Information Systems

  • Software Development / Software Engineering

  • Data Engineering / Data Science

  • Quantitative Risk Management

Eligibility Criteria

  • South African citizenship

  • Under 30 years of age

  • No more than two years of work experience

  • Minimum of 65% academic average across all years of study
