Dischem Vacancies – Travelling Beauty Therapist

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced Travelling Beauty Therapist for their Johannesburg Eastrand stores. In this role, you will help raise awareness about the variety of skincare and body treatments offered at Dis-Chem Beauty Salons. You will also be responsible for ensuring excellent client liaison and care while performing treatments.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • 2-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy

  • A minimum of 12 months’ technical/practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

  • Computer literate

  • Strong numerical skills

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • 3-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy

  • A minimum of 3 years’ technical/practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Job Description:

  • Provide customers with an outstanding salon experience

  • Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures according to Dis-Chem standards

  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and compliments, providing feedback to management

  • Stay updated on new products, treatments, and service techniques

  • Manage stock levels in line with Dis-Chem Salon’s needs

  • Ensure all relevant equipment is maintained in operational and sanitary condition

Competencies:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for skin/body treatments

  • Strong command of English (written and oral)

  • Team player with strong customer relations skills

  • Deadline- and target-driven

Advantageous:

  • Experience with soft laser and Bio-Magnetic treatments, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning

  • Additional training in laser or other salon equipment

  • Bilingual

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

  • Able to travel to and from the store

  • Physically fit and able to perform massage, facial, and body treatments

  • South African citizen

  • Clear credit and criminal records
