Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will provide senior technical leadership for HV transmission line projects (132kV to 765kV), including greenfield developments, reconductoring, thermal uprating, structure strengthening, and asset renewals. The role covers design, review, and interdisciplinary coordination from concept to construction.
Key Responsibilities:

Transmission Line Design:
- Develop alignments, profiles, and structure spotting using PLS-CADD.
- Perform sag-tension analysis and validate clearances per EN 50341, NG TS 2.04 standards.
- Prepare plan/profile drawings, stringing charts, and loading reports.
- Assess tower/pole loading and coordinate foundation designs.

Project Leadership:
- Plan, schedule, and execute transmission line projects, including cost estimates and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to meet requirements.
- Lead design reviews, QA processes, and constructability assessments.

Technical Expertise:
- Insulation coordination: BIL ratings, insulator string design, strike/arcing distance assessment.
- Conductor & shielding analysis: Select conductors, OPGW, and evaluate clearance requirements.
- EMF, induction, and line loss studies using specialized software.
- Support construction-ready drawings and material schedules.

Mentorship & Collaboration:
- Guide junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with drafting, structural, civil, and geotechnical teams for integrated solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (essential).
- 8-10 years of experience in HV transmission line (132kV+) design.
- Chartered/Professional Engineer status (preferred).
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER/PLS-POLE, Microsoft Excel/Office.
- Experience in reconductoring, uprating, and asset renewals.
