Job Overview
Fidelity Vacancies invites qualified Fire Fighters to join its operational teams, responsible for responding to fire-related emergencies and safeguarding lives and property. The Fire Fighter role involves active firefighting, emergency rescue services, basic medical care, fire prevention, training activities, and the effective operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to fire incidents, rescues, hazardous material situations, and humanitarian emergencies

Perform firefighting and emergency operations under the guidance of senior officers

Extricate casualties, provide emergency care, resuscitation, and basic medical treatment
-
Operate and maintain firefighting apparatus, tools, and emergency equipment
-
Conduct fire prevention duties, safety inspections, and risk assessments
-
Participate in emergency preparedness activities, drills, simulations, and fitness training
-
Deliver fire safety training and awareness programs to employees and stakeholders
-
Advise on preventative and corrective fire safety measures
-
Maintain operational readiness through routine inspection, cleaning, and testing of vehicles and equipment
-
Complete occurrence logs, reports, and required administrative documentation
-
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and internal safety policies
-
Operate heavy and specialised firefighting vehicles and machinery during emergency responses
-
Assist with fire safety inspections, life safety education, and training exercises
-
Support departmental health and safety initiatives and committee participation
-
Carry out supervisory and line-functional duties as required
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
-
Grade 12 qualification
-
IFSAC accredited
-
NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification
-
Firefighter II qualification
-
Minimum of 2–3 years relevant firefighting experience
-
Valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP
-
Advanced driving experience advantageous
-
Medically and physically fit
-
Clear criminal record
Technical Skills and Certifications

Strong knowledge of fire prevention procedures and firefighting systems

Understanding of fire chemistry, fire classes, and suppression methods
-
Hazmat training and experience
-
EMT certification
-
First Aid Levels 1–3

Basic Ambulance Attendant qualification
