Cashier – Weskus | Dischem Vacancies

Job Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Cashier for the Weskus Mall store. The Cashier will ensure a seamless customer experience at the point of sale, accurately process transactions on the Dis-Chem system, and uphold company policies and SOPs with zero tolerance for errors or fraud.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and build professional relationships with customers

• Process all sales transactions, including cash, card payments, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty cards (Discovery, Medihelp, Momentum, ABSA Rewards, eBucks)

• Handle refunds, exchanges, and returned goods according to company policy

• Maintain accurate cash handling and ensure all money is securely stored

• Approve line voids and price changes with supervisor authorization

• Monitor hourly customer turnover and adhere to sales and promotion targets

• Apply Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles

• Ensure outgoing stock, prescriptions, and items are scanned and paid for

• Maintain vigilance for suspicious behavior and report incidents to management

• Respond to customer queries regarding store merchandise

• Follow all security policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations

• Computer literate (MS Office)

• Strong numerical skills

• Excellent command of English

• Basic customer service skills

• Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Fluency in a third language
