Job Purpose
Join DHL, a global leader operating in over 220 countries, as Head of Sales for DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF). You will manage, control, and develop the country’s overall sales strategy in alignment with global and regional objectives. Your role will focus on increasing market share, optimizing business assets, driving customer retention, and ensuring achievement of sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sales performance across the country, coordinating strategic initiatives with direct impact on results and business risk

  • Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives and vertical/horizontal guidelines

  • Drive market growth, customer acquisition, and retention at a country level

  • Monitor and refine sales performance using metrics and process improvements

  • Support customer strategies and contract negotiations

  • Analyze industry trends and key technologies to identify change needs within the sales function

  • Negotiate and approve critical agreements and contracts

  • Implement modifications within authority to optimize operational performance and profitability

People Management

  • Define organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, and performance targets for the sales function

  • Foster a culture of service excellence, quality, flexibility, and cost consciousness

  • Build team spirit and multitasking capabilities

  • Develop KPIs, monitor performance, conduct appraisals, and coach team members

  • Allocate resources and staff effectively to meet global, regional, and country objectives

  • Identify training needs to develop a highly skilled sales team

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the logistics industry

  • At least 5 years as an Airfreight Manager in a reputable organization

  • Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, or Business Management

  • Strong commercial acumen and business sense

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and people management skills

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, facilitation, and customer-facing skills

  • Analytical, organizational, and motivational capabilities
