Store Designer – Truworths Careers

Job Description

Truworths is seeking a talented Store Designer to join our Store Design Department. This role offers the opportunity to shape innovative retail environments across our portfolio of over 700 stores. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, creating engaging store designs that reflect brand aesthetics and enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Store Design & Layout:

• Develop creative and functional store layouts and floor plans aligned with brand standards and operational requirements

Collaboration:

• Work closely with Tenant Coordinators, Architects, Project Managers, Visual Display, Marketing, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure cohesive execution

3D Visualization:

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software

Space Planning:

• Maximize product display areas and optimize customer flow to support sales

Brand Alignment:

• Ensure consistent design across all locations in line with brand guidelines

Project Management:

• Assist in the selection of materials, finishes, fixtures, flooring, and lighting that meet design vision and budget

• Manage project timelines and costs in line with approved budgets

Post-Opening Evaluation:

• Review completed store builds and recommend design improvements

• Stay informed on retail design trends and incorporate innovative ideas to keep stores fresh and engaging

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail or commercial design

• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite

• Strong creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills
