General Assistant – Cashbuild Vacancies

Description

Provide exceptional customer service in-store while assisting with merchandising, shelf price labelling, and maintaining housekeeping standards within the assigned area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 10 (NQF 3) with 1 year work-related experience, or Grade 12 without prior work experience

  • Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language

  • Valid South African ID or work permit

  • Ability to perform basic calculations accurately

  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

  • Ability to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Advise and assist customers on products and queries

  • Resolve customer complaints efficiently and professionally

Merchandising Standards

  • Merchandize bulk stock areas safely according to store layout plans and planograms

  • Ensure assigned areas are fully stocked and organized

Housekeeping

  • Keep the area free of obstacles, ensuring customers can move safely

  • Merchandize stock immediately after receipt

  • Ensure shelf price labelling is correct

  • Complete checklists for canteen and toilet/shower schedules as required

Safety (OHSA) Requirements

  • Adhere to all safety standards within the area of responsibility

  • Ensure stock is merchandized safely for both customers and colleagues

  • Report any safety discrepancies to the Store Manager

Stock Loss Management

  • Report damaged stock within area of responsibility to the Store Manager
