Store Manager

Company: Cashbuild Vacancies

Job Purpose
Protect and grow the Store’s profitable market share in line with Store, Division, and Company strategies while ensuring operational excellence and superior customer service.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with at least 3 years retail management experience, or 5 years related retail management experience

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze and drive performance

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure

  • Basic computer literacy

  • Proven leadership and people management skills

  • Strong administrative and organizational abilities

  • Valid driver’s licence with own transport preferred

  • Own cell phone

  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation (OHSA)

  • Solid Human Resources Management experience

  • High attention to detail

Key Performance Areas

Strategic Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage the Store’s strategic plan aligned to Divisional objectives

  • Ensure execution of strategic initiatives to support long-term growth

Market Share Growth and Protection

  • Drive transactions, sales growth, and market share in line with budgets

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and growth objectives

  • Manage customer loyalty programmes and third-party credit initiatives

  • Implement action plans to protect market share against competitors

  • Ensure Store business plans are implemented and regularly updated

Customer Service Excellence

  • Implement and monitor the Store’s Customer Service strategy

  • Maintain an effective delivery service in line with company standards

  • Grow and manage VIC and charge card customer bases

  • Recommend product range improvements suited to the local market

Asset Control

  • Manage and control shrinkage according to company policy

  • Protect Store assets including cash, stock, and fixed assets

  • Manage debtors within the Store

  • Assess security risks and recommend improvements

  • Ensure all physical security measures are implemented and maintained

Business Trade Licenses

  • Ensure all required trade licenses are valid and renewed on time, where applicable

Human Resource Management

  • Manage staffing levels in line with Company and Division strategies

  • Implement succession planning and career pathing within the Store

  • Maintain open communication with staff and employee forums

  • Ensure ongoing training and development of Store employees

  • Manage employee relations and performance effectively

Maintaining Store Standards

  • Conduct daily floor walks to ensure operational readiness

  • Implement and monitor performance improvement plans where required

  • Ensure compliance with Company standards and policies

  • Maintain high housekeeping and merchandising standards

  • Ensure the Store is always ready for business

  • Maintain lighting, racking, and Store infrastructure in good condition

Stock Management

  • Ensure stock ordering and receiving are done according to policy

  • Manage damaged, obsolete, slow-moving, and excess stock in line with procedures

Store Safety (OHSA) Compliance

  • Manage all safety requirements in line with OHSA legislation

  • Ensure completion of safety checklists and appointment of safety representatives

  • Investigate, report, and manage safety incidents

Expense Management

  • Control Store expenses in line with the financial model and approved budget

Insurance Claims Administration

  • Report all incidents to insurers promptly

  • Liaise with insurers regarding claims and documentation

Management of CB Way

  • Implement and maintain controls, disciplines, and standards in line with the CB Way
