Responsibilities

Design and implement global technical platforms and supplier competitive tension tools to deliver strategic advantage and achieve sector benchmarks.

Review and approve all Capex, MRO, and Energy RFPs and proposals, leveraging category levers and smart bidding to achieve lowest total cost to business (TCO).

Lead Value Engineering and productivity initiatives across Capex, MRO, and Energy categories in South Africa, utilizing regional and global scale to deliver P&L savings and minimum run rate productivity.

Establish and govern CVA/commodity splits and pricing mechanisms to create effective risk management strategies.

Provide technical leadership to the South African supplier base, driving performance improvement and ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.

Collaborate with Legal to ensure optimal contract terms, preparing and coordinating contract sign-offs.

Manage and oversee timelines for transformational projects, acting as gatekeeper for critical purchasing tasks to ensure on-time plan execution.

Identify and implement productivity projects in partnership with sector Procurement and XFP teams.
Supplier Management

Select suppliers according to purchasing strategy and participate in local and regional supplier evaluations and negotiations.

Develop sourcing plans, execute value engineering and productivity projects, and manage new supplier development.

Maintain SQA and sustainability standards while managing supplier relationships through quarterly scorecard reviews.

Resolve disputes related to supply, quality, invoices, or payments.

Lead supplier diversity programs, including strategy development, roadshows, due diligence, and sustainable supply solutions.

Manage commodity risk management plans and roll out playbooks across the ingredients portfolio.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 15 years of strategic sourcing experience in the F&B industry, with global organization exposure and multi-geography Capex & MRO expertise.

At least 4 years in a leadership role managing Capex & MRO procurement, with spend accountability exceeding $50M.

Proven capability in business continuity planning and establishing alternates and substitutes for supply security.

Demonstrated track record of 5% year-on-year productivity delivery and P&L savings.

Experienced in cost optimization, sourcing models, and value engineering initiatives for Capex & MRO categories, with pipeline value exceeding $5M annually.

Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage ambiguity, and drive initiatives in a multicultural environment.

Excellent communication, networking, influencing, and analytical skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and execute end-to-end category sourcing strategies.

Fluent in English, with advanced computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP). Knowledge of e-procurement tools is an advantage.

Proven capability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and adapt in a dynamic business environment.
