Job Description
Fidelity Vacancies is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Fire Department Dispatcher to coordinate emergency responses and ensure rapid deployment of fire and rescue services. The ideal candidate will manage critical communications, support personnel in the field, and maintain accurate incident records to protect lives and property.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive emergency calls and relay essential information to responding units
• Dispatch fire, emergency medical, and other emergency personnel efficiently
• Monitor and track the location and status of all responding units
• Coordinate communication between units, providing updates as needed
• Assist field personnel with support and guidance during emergencies
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents and actions taken
• Operate and maintain communication equipment according to procedures
• Deliver exceptional service to callers and stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills

• Fluent in Afrikaans
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous dispatcher or related experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high-stress situations
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficient with communication equipment and computer systems
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
