Job Purpose
The Senior HR Administrator provides high-quality administrative support across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring accurate HR processes, compliance with employment legislation, and effective guidance to employees. This role manages and oversees payroll processes while supporting general HR operations, including employee relations, recruitment, performance agreements, and HR record management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive HR administrative support for onboarding and offboarding.
- Prepare employment contracts, change letters, and other HR documentation in line with company policies.
- Support payroll processes by ensuring accurate and timely HR data for weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Coordinate recruitment administration, including interview scheduling and pre-employment checks (criminal checks, ID, and qualification verification) for fleet and shores positions.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Support HR reporting, audits, and compliance activities.
- Prepare and maintain case files for disciplinary matters, grievances, and CCMA-related cases.
- Maintain and update the IR Matrix on SAGE monthly.
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of HR administration experience, including payroll administration for weekly and monthly employees.
- Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems, with SAGE knowledge essential.
- Experience in employee benefits administration, including Medical Aid, Pension, and Provident Fund.
Knowledge and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of LRA, BCEA, EE Acts, and associated regulations.
- Excellent administrative skills with the ability to manage tasks accurately, efficiently, and on time despite interruptions.
- Above-average proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
