Trainee Admin Manager
Pick n Pay Careers is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Trainee Admin Manager to oversee administration operations, ensuring maximum performance, efficiency, and profitability. This role supports end-to-end administrative processes while controlling expenses and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the store.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 2–4 years’ relevant retail or administrative experience

- Problem-solving with the ability to generate practical solutions for unfamiliar challenges
- Ability to prioritise urgent matters and act decisively
- Confident, fair, and influential in decision-making
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent relationship-building and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Performance & Financial Control:
- Monitor turnover, profit, and LFL sales growth
- Control shortages, budget vs actual performance, shrinkage, and waste
- Manage controllable expenses, including total trading expenses, employee costs, and repairs/maintenance
- Ensure store shape aligns with sales and company standards
Audits & Compliance:
- Achieve company targets for Fanscore audits
- Ensure compliance with food safety audits (80%), OHS audits (90%), OHIO audits (90%), and remote audits, Barn Owl, and CSA audits (80%)
- Address administrative issues, including shorts and overs, and ensure general admin is up to date
Training & Systems Management:
- Support implementation of training initiatives
- Ensure Workday and other administrative systems are correctly implemented and maintained
