Pick n Pay Careers is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Manager Clothing Store to lead our clothing department. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, managing staff, and delivering an exceptional customer experience while achieving business targets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Computer literate (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams/Zoom)
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and after-hours stocktakes
  • Flexibility to be relocated between stores when required
  • Ability to perform hands-on, physical tasks

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Journey:

  • Maintain a customer-centric approach and uphold high service standards
  • Attend to customer service requests and promote products and services
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are adhered to and execute all promotional plans

People Management:

  • Lead and manage all staff-related functions
  • Address employee performance issues and provide guidance when needed
  • Oversee recruitment, training, development, and succession planning initiatives
  • Motivate and develop the team to achieve departmental and store goals

Daily Operations, Stock & Risk Management:

  • Open and close the store according to company security procedures
  • Conduct start and end-of-day reporting and administration
  • Manage staff scheduling, leave, invoicing, pricing, costs, banking, expense control, and reconciliations per company standards
  • Ensure merchandise is received, captured, packed, merchandised, and displayed according to company policy
  • Monitor product quality, control shrinkage, and prevent merchandise damage
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards

Sales & Promotions:

  • Drive sales to achieve budget targets, monitor turnover, and track participation
  • Execute promotions, implement markdowns, and manage RTCs
