Purpose of Job
Provide technical support through independent formulation of approaches, data assessment, interpretation, and contextualization in a complex process environment with advanced control applications and systems.

Key Accountabilities

• Deliver solutions that improve competitiveness and business results.
• Develop instrumentation scope of work (SOW) for engineering and construction contractors.
• Solve technical problems impacting the business unit and value chain.
• Enhance technology application and integration for at least one technology.
• Verify the quality of group deliverables.
• Independently implement cost-effective technical solutions.
• Optimize and control resources within budget.
• Establish and maintain technical policies, practices, procedures, and standards.
• Develop and deliver products, systems, programs, procedures, and models.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements, policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Monitor performance of implemented solutions and take corrective actions when required.
• Conduct data assimilation, assessment, interpretation, and contextualization for maintenance projects.
• Review process and risk impacts across a portfolio of projects.
• Take ownership of personal performance, skills development, and knowledge growth.
• Coach and mentor team members, facilitating expertise transfer.
• Build strong internal and external networks with teams, managers, customers, suppliers, universities, and specialist bodies.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and Engineering CoE to identify risks, requirements, and areas for improvement.
• Apply collaborative and consultative approaches to meet business needs.
• Communicate best practices, technical reports, and position statements to relevant stakeholders.
• Plan and manage maintenance projects while achieving technical and professional objectives.

Formal Education

• BTech University Bachelor’s Degree (South Africa)
• Higher/Advanced Diploma (South Africa)

Working Experience

• 6+ years of relevant experience

Technical Competencies

• Knowledge of DeltaV DCS and AMS systems
• Experience with PLCs and ESD systems (HIMA)
• Understanding of Bentley Nevada vibration protection systems
• Knowledge of level measurements and control
• Functional Safety and Safety Integrity Levels (SIL)
• Explosion prevention principles
• Familiarity with MOC processes
