About the Program:
NewBridge Graduate Institute is inviting applications for full-time and part-time B Ed Lecturers to teach Foundation Phase education starting in 2027. Applicants agree that their CV may be submitted to regulators. Lecturers must hold at least an NQF Level 8 qualification in Education, preferably with a focus on the Foundation Phase. Candidates with experience in Foundation Phase teaching, even if qualified in intermediate or senior primary phases, are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should indicate:
- Campus preference (Centurion, Fourways, Tygervalley, Salt River, Musgrave, Pinetown)
- Highest relevant qualification (minimum NQF 8)
- Years of Foundation Phase teaching experience
- Ability to teach English, Afrikaans, or isiZulu at HL or FAL level
- Experience teaching Mathematics and/or Robotics at the Foundation Phase
Role Title: Education Lecturer – Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching
Campus: Salt River
Reports to: Programme Manager and Campus Principal
Nature of Contract: Full-time or Part-time
Main Purpose of the Role:
Develop and deliver modules, learning content, and assessments for the Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching (starting 2028). Assessments and supervision of work-integrated learning are also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop B Ed modules, including languages (English, Afrikaans, isiZulu), Mathematics, and Robotics for the Foundation Phase
- Deliver lectures and facilitate both in-person and online instruction
- Assess student work and supervise teaching practice
- Provide student support and guidance
- Gather and act on student feedback
- Manage administrative duties related to teaching and learning
Essential Skills & Competencies:
- Minimum two years Foundation Phase teaching experience preferred
- At least two years lecturing experience in B Ed programs preferred
- Proficiency in online and in-person teaching
- High computer literacy
- Knowledge of curriculum requirements
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Required Qualifications:
- NQF 8 Education qualification relevant to Foundation Phase teaching
- Proficiency in at least two of English, Afrikaans, or isiZulu
