Sales Representative – Value Logistics

About the Program
Value Logistics is seeking a results-oriented Sales Representative to grow and manage key accounts in the Free State region. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, nurturing existing relationships, driving sales and margin growth, and effectively managing customer accounts and debtors.

Purpose of the Job
The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, recruiting, growing, and retaining key customers—from spaza shops to forecourts and wholesalers—by building strategic relationships, achieving sales targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit new customers within the assigned region, meeting monthly and quarterly acquisition targets
  • Maintain and grow the existing customer base to achieve sales volume and margin objectives
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular contact and engagement
  • Manage customer credit, ensuring debtor days remain within agreed limits and payments are collected on time
  • Conduct regular customer visits and calls, including order-taking and presenting new product lines
  • Monitor and report customer feedback to management to drive continuous improvement
  • Deliver excellent customer service, resolving queries promptly and professionally
  • Execute business strategies, including marketing campaigns and promotional activities, tracking performance against objectives

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales role within the FMCG sector
  • Proven track record of success as a sales representative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel extensively
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and mobile sales tools

  • Strong knowledge of FMCG market dynamics
  • Proven selling and negotiation skills to close deals effectively
  • High resilience and persistence in achieving targets
  • Active listening to understand customer needs and concerns
