About the Role:
The Forklift Technician is responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, and assembly of forklift components. This includes stripping and cleaning parts, evaluating vehicles for defects, assembling components, and ensuring all work is carried out to original equipment specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect forklifts for general defects before repairs
• Compile technical reports detailing repair requirements
• List and source spare parts needed for repairs
• Strip vehicle components and assess parts for wear or damage
• Assemble components using new and used parts
• Identify system failures, consult with team leaders and workshop foremen, and record findings on job cards
• Document all tasks performed, spares used, and time spent on job cards
• Service and repair forklifts to meet OE specifications and schedules
• Perform standby or after-hour breakdown duties as required
• Maintain productivity and efficiency standards
• Train and guide repair shop assistants and semi-skilled artisans
• Report unsafe working conditions or faulty equipment
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and operational requirements
• Maintain professional conduct and follow company dress code
• Uphold daily housekeeping standards in the workshop
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Red Seal Qualification
• 2+ years of relevant forklift or mechanical repair experience advantageous
