About the Program:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Cosmetic Manager for their Garden Route Mall store in George. The role focuses on managing the cosmetic and beauty categories, promoting and selling Dis-Chem cosmetic and beauty products, and ensuring staff provide excellent customer service on the sales floor.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum 3 years’ cosmetics or beauty experience in a retail environment
  • Previous supervision or management of a staff team of approximately 7
  • Computer literate – MS Office
  • Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • SAP experience
  • Qlikview experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and support sales staff under the guidance of the Store Manager in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures
  • Ensure Cosmetic Consultants are allocated effectively across relevant cosmetic and beauty categories
  • Provide staff training and manage performance feedback
  • Ensure the store is adequately staffed at all times
  • Manage stock control through effective planning and ordering in collaboration with Dis-Chem’s warehouse
  • Handle customer compliments and escalate serious or unresolved complaints to the Store Manager or Regional Cosmetic Manager
  • Maintain merchandising standards and cleanliness throughout the store
  • Implement monthly promotions to achieve department sales targets
  • Stay up to date with product, brand, and industry knowledge

Competencies:

Essential:

  • Strong written and verbal English communication
  • Team player with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret stock reports, sales targets, and commission calculations

Advantageous:

  • Experience in training, development, and performance management of staff
  • Bilingual

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness to work retail hours
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
  • South African citizenship
  • Clear credit and criminal records
