About the Program
Rand Water, in collaboration with Govan Mbeki Local Municipality, invites suitably qualified and unemployed graduates to participate in a three-year Graduate Internship Programme. The programme provides practical exposure and hands-on experience in line with the graduate’s field of study, preparing participants for professional registration and career growth.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in the relevant discipline from an accredited university (e.g., BSc Natural Science – Honours/Masters)
• Unemployed and seeking practical work experience
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence (advantageous)
• South African citizen with a valid SA ID
• Under 35 years of age (aligned with NSDS III)
• Academic record aligned with requirements for professional registration with the relevant statutory councils (ECSA, SAGC, SACPLAN, SACNASP, SACPCMP)
• Registration as a candidate with the relevant statutory councils (advantageous)
• Appointments made in accordance with Employment Equity

Primary Duties

• Apply field-of-study knowledge in practical work assignments
• Demonstrate proficiency in all required areas as determined by relevant statutory councils
• Communicate effectively at all organisational levels
• Plan and organise workloads to achieve results efficiently
• Contribute to team objectives and support workplace projects

Knowledge

• Understanding of Rand Water’s mandate and contribution to the water sector

Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings

• Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive
• Team player with a commitment to learning and professional development
