Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Debtors Administrator to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the debtors book by ensuring accurate processing and efficient collection of outstanding accounts. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage customer accounts effectively while supporting the company’s financial processes.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate
  • Relevant Accounting qualification will be advantageous
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a debt collection environment

Advantageous

  • Debt collection experience within a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and maintain customer accounts according to standard operating procedures
  • Perform accurate ITC checks before approving accounts
  • Receive and allocate daily customer payments to the correct accounts
  • Report customer complaints or irregularities to management promptly
  • Generate weekly debtors age analysis reports for management review
  • Communicate with customers to ensure statements and invoices reflect outstanding balances and secure payment commitments
  • Maintain records of all correspondence and discussions with customers
  • Update and maintain accurate customer information in the master data system
  • Prepare and reconcile debtor accounts while resolving outstanding queries
  • Monitor age analysis to ensure debts do not exceed 60 days
  • Contact customers monthly to collect outstanding balances
  • Resolve customer disputes and address account queries efficiently
  • Comply with Dis-Chem policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures
  • Follow all health and safety regulations within the workplace

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a South African citizen
