Position: Assistant Technician

Main Purpose of the Job:
To support the Installations Technician in installing alarm systems, including cabling, drilling, connecting detectors and panels, powering up, and performing walk-tests. The Installation Assistant Technician is qualified and experienced to independently handle the installation of alarm systems as well as Intercom, CCTV, and Access Control systems according to company standards.

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Wireman
• Practical electrical/electronic knowledge advantageous
• PSIRA registration (Grade C) advantageous

Duties:

• Assist the technician with installation of alarm and security equipment
• Remove old equipment from client premises as needed
• Run new cables, apply glue, drill holes, and mount detectors, panels, contacts, and lights
• Inform the technician of any equipment or tool limitations
• Advise on cabling requirements for installations
• Assist with user functions and handover processes
• Ensure vehicles and client premises are cleaned after installations

Job Requirements & Other Attributes:

• Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail
• Technical aptitude and hands-on installation skills
