Sales Coordinator

Job Purpose
Drive sales growth through continuous customer engagement, accurate costing of building plans, and issuing precise quotations. Ensure high housekeeping and merchandising standards while managing a cost-effective and efficient delivery service.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with at least 5 years related experience, or a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience

  • Building plan reading experience will be advantageous

  • Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language

  • Above-average numerical and calculation skills

  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure

  • Computer literacy

  • Strong organising, planning, and delegation skills

Key Performance Areas

Sales

  • Issue and follow up on quotations to generate and grow sales

  • Manage the quotation process, including special orders

  • Read and interpret building plans to ensure accurate and timely quotations

  • Manage incoming and outgoing calls and ensure effective customer follow-ups

  • Conduct competitor analysis to maintain Store competitiveness

  • Communicate bulk deposit transfers to customers

  • Promote customer loyalty programmes, including VIC and charge cards

Deliveries

  • Manage an efficient delivery service and ensure correct delivery rates are applied

  • Ensure deliveries are dispatched within required timeframes

  • Communicate delivery delays promptly and agree on suitable arrangements with customers

Customer Service

  • Manage the Customer Service Desk efficiently

  • Record, follow up, and resolve customer complaints

  • Ensure all customers receive prompt and effective service

  • Maintain professional telephone etiquette and ensure calls are answered within required timeframes

Store Standards

  • Manage Ready for Business checklists and processes within the area of responsibility

  • Ensure advertised price changes are implemented accurately and on time

  • Implement and maintain planograms

People Management

  • Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers are available in their designated areas

  • Ensure trained backup resources are available when required

  • Monitor and ensure daily duties are executed effectively

Safety (OHSA) Compliance

  • Ensure all safety standards and procedures are followed

  • Ensure employees wear appropriate protective clothing and use equipment safely

Security Awareness

  • Remain alert to suspicious activities in and around the Store

  • Maintain password and information security at all times
