Job Overview
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple Operations Managers and ensuring that all site-specific security requirements are met. This role includes client liaison, HR/IR management, fleet and expense control, investigations, and ensuring the effective posting of Security Officers to meet client expectations professionally and efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- PSIRA Grade A registered
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transport
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the security industry
- At least 5 years’ experience in operational security management
- Working knowledge of the Firearm Act and firearm competency
- Proven staff management experience
- Computer literate with expert knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- No criminal record or pending cases
- Strong planning, administration, interpersonal, and client liaison skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management systems
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strong relationships between Fidelity Security Services Group and clients regarding security services
- Manage allocated areas to ensure contractual obligations are met
- Ensure all Security Officers meet contractual requirements at client sites
- Evaluate service levels and provide recommendations to clients for improvement
- Oversee the management and supervision of security staff to achieve performance standards
- Handle administrative responsibilities efficiently
- Liaise daily with management and regional management on operational matters
- Address HR-related queries promptly and implement disciplinary actions as required
- Ensure timely submission of employment documentation to the Regional Office
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly incident and general reports
- Investigate incidents and report findings
- Uphold ISO 9001:2008 standards in all operations
