Job Description
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner to join their team at Eikestad Mall, Stellenbosch. The role focuses on managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy, providing care in line with the scope of practice of a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 – Matric
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Advantageous:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Clinic Nurse Practitioner duties according to industry regulations and best practices
• Manage clinic objectives and patient flow to enhance service delivery
• Ensure availability of all clinic services at all times
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper follow-up
• Ensure the clinic operates according to scheduled hours
• Process claims accurately and promptly
• Maintain stock and equipment in working order
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, colleagues, store and dispensary management, medical aids, suppliers, and community healthcare stakeholders

Competencies:

Essential:

• Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health, family planning, cytology, IUD insertion, pharmacology, immunisation (EPI/cold chain management), STD management, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
• Participate in quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem
• Strong command of English (written and oral)
• Understanding of financial implications related to clinic targets
• Analytical skills for evaluating clinic statistics and commission
• Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, trustworthy and honest
• Ability to manage self and team effectively; self-motivated
• Time management skills

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Knowledge of business objectives
• Courses in baby immunisation, family planning, primary health care, breastfeeding, and disease management

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willing to work retail hours
• Physically fit to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
