Position Overview
Fidelity Vacancies is looking for a dedicated Fire Department Dispatcher to coordinate and manage emergency response operations. This role ensures the swift and effective deployment of fire and rescue services to protect lives and property.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and accurately log emergency calls, relaying critical information to responding units
• Dispatch fire, emergency medical, and other emergency personnel to incident sites
• Monitor and track the location and status of all responding units
• Facilitate clear communication between field personnel and provide updates as needed
• Support field personnel with guidance and information during incidents
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all calls, incidents, and actions taken
• Operate and maintain communication equipment and systems according to standard procedures
• Deliver professional and courteous service to all callers and stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills

• Fluent in Afrikaans
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous dispatch or emergency response coordination experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficient with communication equipment and computer systems
• Team-oriented with a professional and reliable work ethic
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
