Beauty Therapist
Dischem Vacancies is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Beauty Therapist to join the Dis-Chem Beauty Salon team. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality skincare and body treatments, promoting salon services, and ensuring exceptional client care and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Treatment Services
- Deliver a professional, welcoming, and memorable salon experience
- Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures in accordance with Dis-Chem standards
- Respond to customer queries, complaints, and compliments with professionalism and care
Product Knowledge & Service Promotion
- Promote awareness of the full range of skincare and body treatments available in the salon
- Stay informed about new products, treatments, and service techniques
Salon Operations
- Monitor and manage salon stock levels in line with operational requirements
- Ensure all salon equipment is clean, sanitized, and fully operational at all times
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant 2-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
- Minimum of 12 months’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon
- Computer literacy with sound numerical skills
- Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous
- Relevant 3-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
- Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon
Competencies
Essential
- General knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for treatments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent customer service skills and a collaborative team approach
- Deadline- and target-driven mindset
Advantageous
- Experience with soft laser, bio-magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming, or spray tanning
- Training on laser or additional salon equipment
- Bilingual communication skills
Special Conditions of Employment
- Willing and able to work retail hours
- Able to travel to and from the store
- Physically fit to perform massage, facial, and body treatments
- Clear criminal and credit record
