Beauty Therapist Talent Pool

Dischem Vacancies is building a Beauty Therapist Talent Pool to support current and future staffing needs across its Beauty Salons. This talent pool aims to identify and pre-screen qualified Beauty Therapists who can deliver exceptional treatments and outstanding customer service when opportunities arise.

Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Treatment Services

• Provide customers with a professional and high-quality salon experience
• Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures in line with Dis-Chem standards
• Respond to customer queries, complaints, and compliments with professionalism

Product Knowledge & Service Promotion

• Promote awareness of skincare and body treatments offered in Dis-Chem Beauty Salons
• Stay informed about new products, treatments, and service techniques

Salon Operations

• Manage salon stock levels according to operational needs
• Ensure all equipment is clean, sanitized, and fully operational at all times

Minimum Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant 2-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 12 months’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon
• Computer literacy with sound numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Relevant 3-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon

Competencies

Essential

• General knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for treatments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Excellent customer service skills with a team-oriented approach
• Deadline- and target-driven mindset

Advantageous

• Experience with soft laser, bio-magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming, or spray tanning
• Training on laser or additional salon equipment
• Bilingual communication skills

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Able to travel to and from the store
• Physically fit to perform massage, facial, and body treatments
• Clear criminal and credit record
