RADIOGRAPHER – Anova Vacancies

Main Purpose of the Role
Provide high-quality radiographic chest X-ray imaging, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for image reading, while ensuring patients receive excellent care and are linked to appropriate services. Collaborate with district and facility teams to plan, allocate resources, and deliver efficient radiography services. Maintain effective communication with outreach teams to ensure quality service delivery.

Key Performance Areas

Radiography Services

• Ensure clients provide informed consent before X-ray exposure
• Comply with Ionizing Radiation (for Medical Exposure) Regulations
• Accurately record patient information, including radiation dose and consumables used
• Maintain comprehensive patient records, including exposure factors
• Support and reassure patients, addressing any barriers to understanding
• Develop technical knowledge of equipment to identify and report malfunctions
• Contribute to district/sub-district operational plans for mobile DCXR deployment
• Collaborate with outreach teams and facility staff to maintain effective service delivery
• Liaise with Radiologists/Medical Officers for diagnostic and technical guidance
• Facilitate referral and linkage to care for incidental chest X-ray findings not requiring presumptive TB testing
• Ensure accurate data collection, verification, and reporting
• Prepare and set up daily activities, supervising teams for direct service delivery
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure guidelines

Project Management & Reporting

• Monitor project performance, progress, and trends
• Assess the effectiveness of strategies and activities implemented
• Provide timely feedback to inform adjustments in programme activities
• Manage stakeholder relationships with Department of Health facility teams and managers
• Provide technical guidance and support, including implementation of training and mentoring programmes
• Ensure post-mentoring competence and skill development of team members
• Coordinate shared resources effectively

Organisational Support

• Train and counsel staff on clinical ethical conduct
• Stay updated on clinical developments, policies, and in-service training opportunities
• Assist in setting programme goals, objectives, and quality interventions
• Ensure all medical equipment and clinical supplies are maintained and available
• Adhere to Health and Safety and Infection Control policies
• Drive self and team to work sites following Anova vehicle management policies
• Perform additional duties as delegated by management

Qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiography
• HPCSA registration as a Radiographer
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Radiographer
• Valid Driver’s Licence (Code 8)

Advantageous

• Six months’ experience in a supervisory role
• Private practice number is an added advantage
