Boilermaker – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Role

The Boilermaker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components for truck bodies with a strong focus on precision, quality, and safety. This role requires collaboration with team members to meet deadlines, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate documentation of all completed work.

Key Responsibilities

Metal Fabrication and Welding

• Cut, shape, and assemble metal components with accuracy
• Operate tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, and shears দক্ষly
• Apply appropriate welding techniques to achieve high-quality results
• Stay updated with the latest fabrication and welding technologies
• Select suitable materials based on project specifications
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Measure and mark components to ensure proper alignment and fit
• Perform repairs on damaged truck body components and carry out routine maintenance

Quality Control and Safety Compliance

• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required quality standards
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and workplace guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of fabrication equipment
• Identify and resolve fabrication issues efficiently

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with team members to coordinate tasks effectively
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to ensure high-quality output
• Complete tasks within set project timelines
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent

Panel Shop Operations

• Review job cards and quotations to determine required work
• Inspect vehicles and confirm required parts
• Identify any additional damages
• Order necessary parts and follow up as needed
• Verify that received parts are correct and undamaged
• Ensure parts are sent for painting when required
• Strip and reassemble vehicles correctly
• Ensure proper panel alignment and part fitment
• Conduct final inspections to ensure work meets high standards
• Perform a physical check to confirm the vehicle is roadworthy

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Red Seal Trade Certificate
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant workshop experience

Skills Requirements

• Strong attention to detail for precise measurements and alignment
• High level of safety awareness and compliance
• Proficiency in cutting, shaping, and welding metal components
• Skilled in the use of fabrication tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
